This is one of most important week's in the Christian calendar. Not because you cannot reflect on the cross and resurrection in any other part of the year. We're called to preach Christ crucified and stand on the resurrection always! It is the center of our faith. (1 Cor 1:23; 15:3-5, 17)

However, as we approach Good Friday and Easter Sunday we want to slow down and place ourselves in the 'way of Jesus' towards the cross.

Take time daily this week to sit with Jesus, to reflect with his daily steps towards the cross.

Allow his procession into Jerusalem, Judas' betrayal, his prayer in the garden, the Passover meal he shared with his disciples, his arrest, and of course his crucifixion draw you in to what he has done, faithful to God's mission, for you and the world.

Sit quietly waiting on Saturday as Jesus was buried.

Get up with expectancy on Sunday morning with the hope that resurrection news would have meant, and what it still means today.

Here's a few plans to choose from this week.

  • Simply reading through the lectionary this week will give you all you need in scripture; add your own time for reflection and prayer.
  • Bible Project provides a daily devotional and 3 scriptures tied to each day of Holy Week.
  • Lectio 365 is a 10min combination of prayer, pauses, scripture and reflection.

Join us for 2 special gatherings this week.
