Serve In One Of Our Ministries

We believe everyone can serve in some capacity!

We are only able to do what we do with the help of those who serve in our ministries.

We are always looking for ways to expand our impact. And as Westside continues to grow, there are more opportunities for you to get involved!

Will you serve alongside one of our ministry teams? .

Serving in KidsQuest

Purpose

At Westside, we believe children are not only the church of tomorrow, but they are a vital part of the church today. The heartbeat of KidsQuest is to partner with families as we help children discover who Jesus is, experience His love, and begin forming a faith that can grow with them. We long for children to grow rooted in Jesus, while also forming meaningful friendships and a sense of belonging.

What Volunteers Do

There are several ways to get involved in KidsQuest:

  • Small Group Leaders: Lead the weekly lesson, facilitate activities, and mentor a specific group of kids.
  • Helpers: Support the leader with crafts and activities, and help keep the classroom environment focused and fun.
  • Hall Monitors: Help keep our KQ area secure by monitoring the hallways and assisting families with the check-in and check-out process.
  • Back-Up Leaders/Helpers: Provide extra support on an as-needed basis when one of our regular volunteers is away.

Commitment

To ensure consistency for our children, we use a 2 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation schedule. This allows volunteers to remain invested in the ministry while also prioritizing their own spiritual growth.

Training & Requirements

We provide all the training and materials you’ll need to serve in KidsQuest. To keep our environment safe for everyone, all volunteers are required to complete a police background check and a brief training by shadowing one of our regular volunteers.

Next Steps

If you would like to learn more about serving in KidsQuest, we would welcome the opportunity to connect with you and explore next steps.

Serving on the Sunday Set-Up Team

Purpose

The Sunday set-up team helps to create a welcoming environment so our Westside community can focus on worship and connection. Their work behind the scenes ensures that every space is ready for Sunday morning.

What Volunteers Do

On Sunday mornings, the team arrives early to prepare the auditorium and lobby. This includes setting up and aligning the chairs in the auditorium, placing parking signs and cones in the parking lot, and ensuring the lobby area is organized and ready to welcome guests.

Commitment

Volunteers typically serve on a rotating schedule to help share the responsibility, while keeping the commitment manageable. Right now, we have two teams who serve every other week.

Training & Requirements

No special qualifications are required—just reliability and a willingness to serve. Clear instructions and hands-on training are provided, and new volunteers serve alongside an experienced team member until they feel comfortable.

Next Steps

If you’re interested in serving on the Sunday set-up team, we would love to connect with you and share more about how you can get involved. For details, reach out to Richard.

Community initiatives

Periodically, we partner with local organizations and help with needs in the community. Some examples of these initiatives are blood drives, food drives, back to school, Ricochet, and the West Island Mission toy drive.

If you’re interested in volunteering for one of these initiatives, or if there's a new one you'd love to see Westside partner with, let us know.

A commitment to being difference-makers where God has placed us.
