Mission Ricochet Winter Serving Project

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ricochet, it is a West Island shelter that provides essential services to people 18 and over who are experiencing residential instability. The shelter focuses on the importance of caring for and respecting vulnerable members of our community.

Ricochet is also one of our local mission partners. Annually, a portion of our mission budget goes to support their work. For example, budget for meals at the shelter, and recently, a new freezer. This year, Westside Gathering is partnering with Ricochet to collect winter items. We want to ensure that individuals coming through Ricochet have the warmth and comfort they need throughout the colder months.

Here are 3 simple ways you can help:

1. Donate essential winter items

We’re collecting the following items:

  • Winter gear: Hats, jackets, boots, gloves
  • Men's clothing: Hoodies, pants
  • Flashlights
  • Emergency blankets

Deadline: December 22nd. Please drop off donations in the bin located in the lobby.

2. Purchase items for KidsQuest & Youth care packages

Help us create special care packages for those passing through Ricochet by donating the following items:

  • Hot chocolate packs
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Kleenex packs
  • Chapstick
  • Hand/foot warmer packs
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Thermal socks

The kids will assemble the care packages during one of the gatherings. We believe these thoughtful gifts will bring warmth and encouragement to those who receive them.

Deadline: December 8th, Please drop off donations in the bin located in the lobby.

3. Donate financially

If you prefer, donations are also welcome and will go towards purchasing any missing items for the collection and care packages.
