Winter Retreat will be great for high schoolers to get away from the city, build relationships with other teens, and deepen their faith.

THIS YEAR we're excited to welcome Guest Speaker, Derek Klumpenhouwer (see more below about Derek).

Weekend includes:

• indoor and outdoor activities
• 4 meals and snacks
• accommodations (separate facility for boys and girls)
• 3 worship and learning sessions
• guest speaker, Derek Klumpenhouwer
• secure bus transportation
• adult leaders/animators
• lots of fun and meaningful connections

Basics:

• February 13-15, 2026
• Friday Early Evening Departure (from Westside)
• Camp Peniel, Wentworth-North, QC (20 min. north of Saint Sauveur)
• Cost: $195 (contact us for financial concerns or aid if needed)

ABOUT DEREK:

Derek has been on staff at Waterloo MB Church since 2021, most recently as the family pastor with an engaged focus on youth ministry.

Did you know? Derek worked at Westside as a pastoral youth ministry intern in 2020 after he graduated from Briercrest Seminary.

He is married to Abigail (since 2024). Growing up on a farm in southern Ontario, he still enjoys working on the farm a few times a month to smell the cows and rake the hay :). He loves hockey, sports, music, reading and the farm.

He has a passion for the local church and loves helping get to know and follow Jesus, and stay connected in community.
