How easily the world can change in one week!
We are all watching Ukraine’s continual invasion with lament.
We also are witnessing snapshots of resilience, resistance, love, and grace:
- Ukrainians feeding Russian soldiers and offering video calls back home
- Russians protesting the invasion at their own risk
- Christians praying and worshiping in bunkers
We pray for a peaceful end to this invasion but also sense a responsibility to help where we can. Last Sunday we announced the opportunity to give through our WSG global fund. Every dollar will be directed to aid and support in Ukraine.
We announced that 50% will directed to MCC and (an organization we partner with annually through hygiene kits and other projects). While MCC works all over the world it started 100 years ago because of a need in Ukraine and have been there ever since serving in Jesus’ name. 50% through Bearers of Love Int. This is Mike and Sue Nardozza’s initiative started 20 years ago with a specific focus in Ukraine serving through local churches, food banks, orphanages and more.
This week Mike Nardozza asked us to funnel all the funds through MCC as BOLI is already directing its funds through another very reputable mission organization.
Should BOLI have an immediate need beyond their incoming donations we can support, we will determine a portion of our funds collected for their projects on an as need basis.
We our confident that MCC’s long-standing widespread network in the country and logistical partners in neighbouring regions along with BOLI’s direct line to various smaller pockets on the ground and in churches will be a strategic help.
GIVE HERE (indicate global fund when you give online or by check)
Of course, if you prompted to give through other organizations you trust don’t hesitate. We trust MCC and BOLI’s work.
